A couple of thoughts…
I believe Cowan would benefit from a good long stint in the AHL; bring him back later in the year.
If a trade for Robertson is in the cards why not put him on L2 to build his value.

yes, let cowen get regular reps on the top line in the minors till january at the earliest.

I'm good with Cowan being in the AHL as well. I would have started him in the NHL for experience, but sent him down.

Cowan being sent down is all good. Although, I believe the Leafs geel his is an NHLer now, but taking their time with him while he adjusts to the NHL game.
The issue I see with elevating Robertson in the lineup is that it can drive down his value if he continues to not produce. He produces and all good. He doesn't and he will be worth pretty much nothing.

I like that he's getting a solid feel for the NHL level of play. Let's take things slow so he doesn't come in and out of the line up like Robertson.

Don't know if it drops any farther than a 4th, but right now its likely a 3rd or for a prospect of similar Caliber needing a change.

Yes, it seems like a 3rd would be the best return we could get for Robertson (probably will be a 4th, same as Reichel if he doesn't start putting the puck in the net) .
I think Cowan can stay on the team if he's playing 3rd or 4th line, definitely not top 6 at this point. He looked okay last night with Roy and Joshua, I thought that line controlled the play pretty well and had some good ozone pressure.
