I know Matt Murray probably will not be traded, but I'll give it a shot

Matt Murray
Matt Murray will have a sort of homecoming with him being from Thunder Bay, so he will be close to home, and the leafs get their goalie for the future. The penguins take another proven 30 goal scorer to help win the cup again, and they still have a goalie that can get them there in Fleury. His benching in the playoffs was not because of his play, but more that Murray had overcome him. They then get Bernier to back up Fleury. Hopefully on a winning team he can have some confidence.
What else should Toronto add?

Murry is horible the pens blocked more shots than anyone for the guy he let in a lot of soft goles flury way better there trading murry

I wouldn't add anything more. Let's see how Murray performs next year before u trade the farm for him. A lot of Goalies have performed well one year and then the following year flop.

Murray hasn't proven much of anything. Got on a roll at the right time, but D bailed him out a lot and he let in some very bad goals in the final. watch the highlights. If Leafs are going after goalie it should be Andersen or Gibson (Though Ducks may not be keen on trading Gibson. )

Listen, we saw what Kessel accomplished in Pittsburgh, imagine JVR. He's worth Murray plus a prospect and let's say a 2017 unconditional 1st rd pic; unreasonable, perhaps, but JVR is worth so much on a very good contending team as we all witnessed recently with Kessel.

I don't know what your idea of close is.
Thunder Bay is what 1400 km from Toronto, driving thought the shield.
As for the trade; not enough return. JVR is worth more than a goalie prospect.

People are thinking it is a lot worse than it is. We traded Reimer because he asked for $6 million on his next contract, and it was unlikely we would sign him for that. We basically traded nothing (as Reimer most likely wouldn't sign with us, and Jeremy morin didn't have much of an impact) for something (stalock doesn't matter, but we got immediate marlies help in Ben Smith (he can also be 3rd or 4th line NHL) for their Calder cup run, and a fourth round pick).

For me I agree with JdawgT.O. I would try to target a good goalie more like Andrei Vasilevski or Matt Murray, even though it is highly unlikely that he will be traded
