Nash gets the best player in Matthews with term and take Groulx for contract limit purposes.

Leafs take on the aging Stamkos and his contract who may revive a bit coming to his hometown. We know he is a leader and will play with passion. Wood is a big, strong power forward. L'Heureux will add physicality with the ability to alos produce some points. Gibson a stay at home Rd prospect and an unprotected 1st in a deep draft. Open more cap space as well.

I know I will get the "not enough for Matthews" from some. Let's face it, Matthews is oft injured and is not the player right now he was 2 years ago. Could he become that again? Very possible. But at this point he isn't and his value will reflect that.

Stamkos though RLF? We thought Austin’s dropped off, Stamkos fell off the map. Doesn’t have it anymore. I want big, tough, strong with heart.

Why Stamkos?
Why not Marchessault a center/ right wing.

If Brady Martin is not part of the return package then I would not be at all interested.

I just don’t see them moving off of Matthews and I’m gonna say it because I think there’s actually something to it berube needs to stop using Matthews so much in defensive situations he’s used the most out of any star player in defensive situations the pk has improved since him and knies have been out as well he’s not ROR he’s better but they got to use him in the offensive end.

Not something I would want to see the Leafs do.
A huge NO to Stamkos but a yes to Marchessault and Hague to make the money work.
I would also want to see Brady Martin and Luke Evangelista coming back to the Leafs.
Woods as a big (6’4”) RW would fit the Leafs needs but the scouting reports state that his “skating has always been an issue and still is. ”.
