The Leafs need a top defenseman if they're to have any chance of winning the Cup. Why is everyone pushing for new forwards. With a star dman the offense will be much better. Any realistic thoughts?

Did Florida really have an "elite" or "star" D-man? I wouldn't call Ekblad elite or an all-star type. He's good, but he is not on Hedman or Piet's level.

I can't believe nobody jumped on the Hamilton, Reilly, Quinn deal.No team has ever one a cup without an elite defense man. Toronto doesn't have one in Reilly! Hamilton would solve a lot of problems for the Leafs. What ever it would take, it would be worth it.

Hamilton has had massive injury issues the last 5 years. He's also getting up there in age.
Yeah, if Quinn wants to come here then sure. What does that trade look like though? Mathews for Hughes? It would have to be something close.
