You assume Hyman doesn’t sign before expansion draft which will mean they can’t take really him
So we are going to lose one of dermott holl or engevall to Seattle imo
So the debate is do we sell 3 now - and get weegnar and then we lose a nobody like petan on expansion. Or do we keep our depth in holl dermott or engevall and just assume we probably lose one next year.

Leafs life, he’s a solid top 4 defensmen who plays very well in his own end. And if u look at our lineup Bogosian kinda does the same thing Holl does, Roberson will give us the same amount of production as engvall and lehtonen can maybe even be a better dermott just pieces no longer needed traded for a d partner for muzzin.

I have heard this "Lehtonen will be great" pitch so many times in my life. Most notably recently, our savior on RHD Nikita Zaitsev.

There wasn’t as much hype on zaitsev as lehtonen, zaitsev didn’t put up the numbers lehtonen did and was never supposed to be a saviour and he was only considered that because our best rhd was polak.

Go back and read some articles about zaitsev. He was actually. Maybe not to you but to many, many fans and sports writers.

Nothing against Lehtonen he could be the real deal. But to assume "this time will be different" every time a new euro UFA is brought in is insane.

Ozhiganov had a lot of hype about him too. So did the forward Aaltonen. Rosen and Borgman less so. But LeafsLife is correct. A lot of these guys from overseas are brought in and hyped as the next best thing, only to never work out.

I have been on Weegar for a while. Plays hard, is a good complimentary guy, can play tough minutes and shouldn't break the bank. I also agree as I have mentioned before, that assuuming Lehtonen is an answer is premature. Most who come over here that are expected to work out, don't.
