Obviously Marner for zegras is bold but it accelerates Ducks rebuild, gets Zegras out, Gives Tor a young replacement for Tavares along with good D prospect and the 1st that's flipped for Ferraro.

Forwards take a minor hit so D can improve w/ Roy and Ferraro. Hope McMann and Knies can take on some of Berts responsibilities.

I don't think winning matters that much to Zegras. He plays like a guy who just wants to show off what skills he has. No desire to play the right way etc.

Zegras is more concerned with making sportsnet highlights than winning.

The flip on Zegras is kind of funny, he had a bad season, but prior to this year, he was untouchable. I think he lies somewhere in the middle of where people had him before and where he is. I'd consider this trade with one more solid piece added from Anaheim.

Anaheim has numerous other young players and/ or prospects more desirable than Zegras.

I’m all for trading Marner but ….

Marner and Liljegren for Cutter Gauthier and Oilers 2024 - 1st round pick would do it.

I also think Mario Ferraro is an excellent target to upgrade Leafs defense with the impending departure of Brodie and Giordano though improving the right side is more critical.
