Maybe there's more to the Matthews sickness. Just seems strange.
Anyone else think he's had enough of this team and just quit?
If so, then Matthews may be the one traded, instead of Marner

If Mathews is moved, I would actually want more, mostly in prospects, young players, and picks. It would signal a total rebuild to me.

If you think Matthews quit, you know absolutely nothing about hockey. Guy is second on the team in hits in the playoffs. Works his ass off at both ends of the rink.

@ckps1976 probably didn't quit, but why didn't he come out on the bench? He could have just sat with his teammates and shown support and team unity.

It's a lot for Dallas to give up. 2/ 3rds of their top line and a top pair D, plus a 1st. If Leafs pulled this off, might as well move Marner as well because they would have Johnston.

I was just speculating the other day, maybe the players are done with Keefe. Nylander misses 3 games, Mathews has to leave early. It would seem they ran Babcock outta town, so they have the power to do it. Purely speculating.
