Carolina, washington, edmonton, calgary and minnesota have been heavily rumored to andersen. All 5 teams want a short term fix. If fix works than resigning him becomes an option. All 5 teams really love what he brings but taking a risk on him next summer only to find out he doesn't suit their teams style would suck as theyd have him locked in long term. Seeing him for 1 year before thst time and then having negotiation rights seems the route these teams want to take. So many teams gamble on signing a goalie long term only to have that goalie not fit their team. This covers that problem. He doesn't work its 1 year not 6 years wasted. He works they hit the jackpot.
Andersen at 5 million cap hit for a goalie his caliber is huge. Only needing to pay him 1 million is even bigger. The fact all 5 teams are kickin tires on him plus the fact lehner is badically signed, holtby is going to vancouver and msrkstrom is on his way to colorado and murray is being a bitch to negotiate with is making andersen look even sexier. when there is 1 team wanting the value is crap. when 5 teams want the price keeps going up.
Problem is of these 5 teams minny, edmonton and carolina want to have a goalie go back other way. So reimer and his 3.4 million, dubynk and his 4.6 million and kost (edm goalie) and his 4 million is making dealing with these teams tough.
Toronto wants one of pesce or hamilton back without giving up any of the big 4. Taking on reimer may be the only way.
Andersen and kerfoot 8.5 out for
Hamilton and Reimer 9.15 in
Or
Pesce and reimer 7 in but leafs add 2nd 2020 and Duczak
If nylander and johnson go to columbus i'd hope for savard, anderson rights, foudy, dubinski LTIR and columbus 2020 1st. Then use their pick to get lisms brother jean-luc. nylander is worth way more than what toronto recieves.
St. louis deal who cares. i don't even want parayko. if petro doesn't sign in st. louis snd JayB doesn't return to colts side we are all going to see a major regression. the big guy is just that. big. he is too nice. if i'm getting a 6'6 guy he better be mean like chris pronger. Parayko isn't mean. he has a shot and a reach and a better RHD on his team. Once he becomes any teams best RHD option everyone will see what i see he is. oh and thanks for awakening the Russian one who calls himself Colt. thanks. you're new so ill forgive. lol.

The problem with dealing Andersen without an incoming replacement of some sort is that it puts the Leafs in a weak spot when it comes time to either signing or dealing for a replacement.
On the other hand, if Leafs acquire a goalie first, it puts them in a weak spot when it comes to negotiations for trading him out. That may be alleviated if there is competition for him. But some of the competition will drop out if they can’t make a unilateral trade to dispose of their unwanted goalie at the same time.
The situation with Andersen is a difficult one, and probably the most difficult decision Dubas has had to face yet. He needs to get this right. If he doesn’t trade Andersen, I really hope he reduces his games and uses Campbell a lot more. Especially with the shortened season and with the extra back to back games. It will be more important than ever to ride the backup.

Based on comparables that's what Parayko should cost. 2B prospects+1st for Muzzin is a great example.
As much as hotwing pretends Parayko is worth more he isn't. One thing I do agree about though, they love Parayko. It probably would take that much to get him.

Columbus trade is terrible for Toronto as Nylander has more value then that entire package from Columbus.
I hope we get Pesce as he would be the perfect defensive guy for Reilly.
We only really need one top 4 RHD though so if we get one from Carolina we won’t really need Parayko, especially if Pesce is the guy we’re getting.

Lol muzzin is no freaking parayko. I get he is on the leafs so his value instantly jumps. But parayko is a freaking unicorn and he isn't going to be traded.

Rangers might want more, but will they get it? Georgiev isn’t the first hot young backup goalie with starter potential to come along. Happens all the time. Rangers can ask for all they want. Whether they get it or not is another thing. I highly doubt Georgiev resets the market.

I doubt he resets the market either but J also doubt he is traded without the rangers getting what they want in return. They have an aged goalie and 2 good backups. Worst comes to worse they have no issue holding onto all 3 until at least off season to see what they can get.
