there was a rumour yesterday involving the Ducks and the Leafs. A possibility of obtaining a D man, Fowler. First offer was to high for the leafs, Likely JVR. But it has come around again with a different proposal one the Leafs Might do. Fowler is a 4M cap hit
so 4 to 5M of players go to the Ducks in exchange. Ducks are looking for scoring.

Not sure Rachel would be a part of it but Bozak could be. Dependable but, expendable with Kadri and younger guys ready to fill top three center spots. Maybe a B defense prospect thrown in.

Michalek had a no trade clause in Ottawa and Leaf management talked him into coming to Toronto in the trade. So Michalek will be staying all this season or Lou has to eat his hat.

I don't remember hearing that. And most NTC are partial where they have to submit a list of teams they are willing to go to. Michalek is by no means a player that will be focused on with the leafs but a filler to make that trade happen. He will be more than expendable if the leafs can find a landing spot for him.

If I am not mistaken, Once a player waives his NTC isn't it up to the players new club to see if they want to honour the NTC in the future or get rid of it? I could be wrong, it could be something that is negotiated

Although I do think the NTC move with the contract, totally disagree that he will be staying all year. If the Leafs can move him to a contender at the deadline I am pretty sure he waives it again to go.

I think that Mathews should try a stiffer stick and put the sticks he is now using in a dark place.

I think he should just fire in and down 4-6" of what he is now. Same goes for Marner. A lot of the shots they both miss; hits the cross bar or just missed.
Missing the net nullifies the scoring chances on the play most of the time. Better to risk hitting the goalie, at least there can be a rebound.
