Since when is Ristolainen a top 4 defenseman?
He wasn’t with Buffalo hence they traded him to Philadelphia.
He hasn’t been with the Flyers who would love to dump his contract.
Liljegren is a better defenseman than Ristolainen.
Plus you want to give the Flyers Leafs 1st round pick?
Nylander is a better player than Konecny who has injury issues though I like his heart!

Sorry David 1 Mackin but Hellebuyck is leaps and bounds ahead of Samsonov, He doesn't throw hissy fits when things don't go his way at practice (Last year's playoffs during a practice he threw a tantrem that was caught on tape, he is week mentally, Ovi called him a sieve during his time with the Caps), The trade also includes Kyle Connor, I would be all over this trade, Robertson may have a NHL shot but that's about it, he's had 3 major injuries in 3 years. time to cut him loose.

He included Kyle Connor too, Mackin. I think it’s a pretty fair trade with the salary retention but Helle wants too much on his next contract and Willy won’t waive to go to Winnipeg. I think we are better off trading Willy for a top D and hanging on to Sammy. IMO.

I would imagine that Winnipeg is #1 on Nylander’s 10 team, No Trade List.
Hellebuyck is on an expiring contract and he and his agent have reportedly stated they will be looking for a $9 - $9.5 million dollar, long term (7 - 8 year) extension.
I would rather pay Nylander $9 - $9.5 than Hellebuyck.
Hellebuyck is already 30 years old and I would not want to be paying him when he is 36/ 37/ 38 years of age.
Kyle Connor is a LW of which Leafs have an abundance at the moment.
On the other hand, after trading Nylander Leafs will only have Marner, Jarnkrok, Lafferty and Reaves on the right side.
I think Leafs need a high end RW prospect coming back in the deal not another LW.
My final observation is that Leafs are in far greater need of an upgrade on defense than an upgrade in net.
I think that the focus on any Nylander trade will be to bring back a top 4 defenseman.

Flames should be looking at trying to acquire Nylander to pair with Lindholm not trade Lindholm.

This is basically a Nylander plus 1st and 2nd round picks for Konecny trade with perfume.
As much as I like Konecny it is not an even trade.
Ristolainen has proven himself a terrible defender, beyond redemption and a cap dump.
Ellis will likely never play again so a second cap dumps leaving leaves carrying $11.35 against their cap.
Doesn’t seem like sound cap management to me?
