Miller is a FA after 2022 - 2023 is already 29 years old and will want big money and long term to resign.
Leafs have already given away most of their draft picks for last year and this year.
To give up another pick and Liljegren (in whose development Leafs have invested 5 years) would be another massive error in judgement by the Leafs GM.
I also believe that the Kraken already own Leafs 2023 2nd round pick from the Giordano trade (though I have to check on which years we’re involved) .

If I was dubas I’d be figuring out how to get soucy from Seattle, and Colton paryako from St. Louis, cause those are big bodied impactful defencemen right now opposing teams have a hay day with torontos defence.
I think dubas has failed to put this team in a contending position due to contracts he’s given and lack of movement and expecting a different result year after year, the players are who they are and they’re not winners.

I’m not quite sure why knies is being put on a pedestal here, there’s 2 players on his own team that are younger than him and have a lot more points…. I don’t think he’s gonna be that good and is being over valued by the organization.

What has dubas done to make this team the real deal… he brings in bottom six guys while carrying the same core guys defence and forwards, and we’re not getting a different result. And this year is no different they’re still to inconsistent and look how good Boston is look how good the rangers are Tampa….

Agreed and the fact engvall is playing ahead of kerfoot blows my mind engvall has to be the worst player and he’s making 2.25 million…. I’m a die hard leafs fan but this is why this team and what dubas has done still isn’t a contender these inconsistencies is what will kill them in the playoffs. It drives me nuts.

Yeah as a leaf fan I’m extremely frustrated, the common theme with this team is not being able to keep the pedal down in games. Being out worked, not showing up to games. It’s been 4 years now the players are who they are and like Craig button said it’s on dubas now, and by the way things sound he’s not gonna go after any players that will push the needle for this team in the playoffs. My opinion dubas has failed this organization and it’s time to move on. They’re defence is terrible and for a gm to sit there and think if I can add d depth that will be good enough blows my mind.

I don’t think dubas realizes that 90% of his team plays scared and is intimidated by physical play. Everyone literally got bigger and better except for the leafs. Dubas and Shannahan will be looking for new jobs in the summer.
