If Tanev and Hanifin's are worth two much then they should go after Parayko who has term. They shouldn't waste picks on rentals rebuilding there team when in the summer they will be able to rebuild for free. Also if they lose again and Marner is awful in the playoffs then maybe he will wave his no trade?
St. Louis gets:
1 round pick, Liljegren, Kressler 3round pick 2024, 5 round pick 2025 and Brodie
Leafs get:
Parayko (has to wave no trade)

Parayko has actually been quite good this year. Not quite living up to his contract but, big improvement on Brodie.

The biggest problem with Parayko is that he is already 30 years of age (31 in May) and has 6 more years under contract at $6M per year taking him to 36.

Mcmann has shown he’s not ready. Your third pairing is really bad. Lagesson and Benoit are not full time NHLers.

Ok Robertson instead of McMann?
Agreed the 3 pair isn’t wonderful but it’s a tight cap and the top 4 is bigger problem than the 3 pair.
I personally think Laggesson and Benoit have been fine depth d-man for your 6th d-man
But if you could get Lyubushkin for the bottom pair that would be better.

Shenn signed for 3 years, he’s not coming back here. Teams picking up 50% salary retained for 2 players will want a first for each of those deals alone.
McCabe is only 2 mil and is one of their best D man. Why would you trade him?

McCabe gets traded because Shenn is better and if cap comes in cap goes out.
Nashville a rebuilding team would trade Shenn for Liljegren any day. I would rather Shenn with Reilly for playoffs.
Agree probably need more picks or prospects in the trades
Abuzzes can go in the first trade as well as a 5 round pick and a 4 in the Nashville trade.

He has 4 pts in 8 games all at even strength even though his zone starts are 84% in the D-zone. I think he has more than proved he belongs.

Bob, So, he's a -2, so is Liljegren. And? Was he at fault for those goals?
Gregor is a -4 and Kampf a -5.
Hertl, Meier, Beniers all -17. Sergachev -15. Fowler, Johnson and Connor Murphy -14. Bedard and Nick Paul among many others a -13. Stamkos, McCann, Keller and Necas all -12. Are they not NHL players?
What do you mean he looks lost and out of position. He is always 3rd man high when two down low. He covers for D-men that pinch. He doesn't give the puck away. He is very aware of a tired group situation and when to and not to head to the bench. He makes sure he gains the redline to dump it in before changing. He's a very sound defensively positional player. Head is always on a swivel. About the only time I would say he looks lost at all is sometimes on the back check in regards to which guy to take. And the only reason that is noticed is because he was in the proper position to be part of the backcheck.
If anything, he deserves a bigger role.

No way Nash let’s go of Schenn, they just signed him to a 3 year deal.
Toronto needs D, so why would they trade Timmons and McCabe? McCabe isn’t going anywhere. Klindberg will be on LTIR, so we don’t have to worry about trading him.

In case you failed to check, Zadorov currently is earning $3.75 per year and will be looking for a raise on his next contract.
I would warrant that it will take close to $4.5 to resign Zadorov or he can wait until Free Agent Feeding Frenzy next June and get it.

I agree time to move Marner but not for Dobson and Pageau
If they could move Marner and bring in Tanev and Hanifin on the back end.
And bring someone in like Trenin or Mcbain for the 3 line I think that would be better.
Also I agree with trading Robertson he’s time it done.
