What are the thoughts on Carrier & Trenin? What does it take to get it done?
Stight upgrade on D over Lily and more grit on the bottom 6.
Lily + 1st & 3rd with an extension on Trenin & retention on both?

Nashville is in playoff spot have dealt trenin and graham sward (20 yr old offensive D) to Colorado for Jeremy hanzel (21 yr old offensive D) and a 3rd 2025 draft.
Hanzel is 7 months older and a tad better defensively and faster than sward but sward is showing more offensive ability but is on a better offensive team, do t understand the exchange as both are Left handed
Then Nashville got Anthony beauvillier from chic for a 5th 2024 to replace trenin
Basically trenin and a 5th for beauvillier and 3rd as the prospects cancel each other out
Think to get carrier ir fabbro will take liljegren and Robertson but I could be over valuing this
Sorry RLF I know trenin is a big you guy. maybe leafs target him in offseason as a ufa.

Leafs have no grit, especially when it comes to post season.

Nylander value is all time high. Yea he can score but typical night yesterday, scores a beauty along with an assist and goes -3 on the night including OT winner. Pinto having contract issues would help add.

Sens wouldn’t take that for Tkachuk alone. Tkachuk has miles more valuable more than Silly Willy and Ott knows that too. Would love to get him but look at adding Minten or Cowan and a 1st + on top of that offer. Guys like him don’t come around very often. Like a modern day Wendel Clark.

I don't think the Sens even take that call. They laugh hysterically at the initial email even suggesting anything of the sort.

If I recall correctly, Clark was traded for another skilled sweede, Mats Sundin. I agree, these types of players are rare in today's game however so are top 10 skilled players like Nylander. Problem is we have a few of those types of players. Sens are at the bottom of the East, missing playoffs yet again. Sens take the call to say the least.

Have to give up something in order to receive some value. Extend Hanafin, 26 year old 6'3" deman who can play. Let Calgary give Willy a lucrative 7 year deal.

Leaves an gapping hole at right wing on the 2nd line pretty much making the 2nd line an ineffective unit as Leafs have no adequate replacement.
That puts all of the offensive pressure on two players, Matthews and Marner.
We have seen them wilt under pressure in the playoffs and I for one would not want to see this happen.
The general consensus is that the team who acquires the best player wins the trade.
No player in this trade has even close to the value that Nylander has to the Leafs.
I’m not sure why the two goaltenders are added to this trade.
Markstrom is a terrible goaltender (think Jack Campbell) with 2 more years after this season on his contract, while Samsonov has shown last season that he is more than adequate for little more than half the price.
Even with Calgary retaining on Markstrom’s contract who wants one of the worst goalies in the league for two further seasons at $4M?
