Big overpayment by the leafs hard pass
Take out liljegren and replace steen with Thomas or Sanford and maybe there can be a deal made there.

In blues eyes parayko and gm Armstrong the team is built on players like parayko. We have already gone down this road. Blues will not trade parayko straight up for marner. Also when you said Sanford or Thomas lol. Their is no comparison amongst the two. Thomas is pur future 1c. Did you guys even watch the blues in the playoffs.

st. louis reminds me of LA. Muzzin played out his arse during all their playoff runs and was second fiddle to Doughty. St. Louis had Parayko play out his arse and was definetly second fiddle to Petro.

I watched much of st. louis trun as I am a fan of anything Attack so Binnington caught my eye during second half of season and playoffs. Oreilly, Petro and Binnington were top 3 for st. louis. everyone else played a tier higher than they really play.

Like i said much like St. Louis built around a goalie, a Center, a top D and a second tier D won their cup. Every time their surrounding players didn't play out their arses they either barely got in to playoffs or didn't get in playoffs.

Also, remember when St. louis loses a game they get beat bad. They have flaws like every team. Boston got tired at the end and st. louis took advantage. plus oreilly, binnington and Petro played like they

Parayko was the best dman on the team. He was playing against the other teams best lines with jaybo and was shutting them down. He also killed a guy (bishop) petro was against the second best and worst lines. he only got 7 more points. They both played 25+ mins a game. Also during the entire first and most of second parayko was the best dman. Ask any blues fan. You really need to watch more of the blues before you act like you know.

The irony in your statement is dripping. Maybe you should be watching more Leafs games before trashing them constantly. Parayko might have had a good playoffs, but it’s not unusual for a second string player to step it up and outperform during a team’s cup run. It happens almost every year. Parayko might just be the best 2RHD in the league, but he is still not a 1RHD on most teams, and is probably still not a solid goodbye as Pietrangelo. At least Craigger has actually played hockey. I highly doubt I can say the same about you.

Youre funny. When it came to voting for Conn Smyth even the best world renowned analyst said for St. Louis it went Binnington, Oreilly then Petro. Parayko got a few votes but not enough to say he was the best dman for st. louis. I think you need to start realizing who the other teams top lines are before you start blowing smoke.

Petro covered the the bergeon line most of the series but the game boston blew out st. louis Parayko got the duties. He is good but not as good as Petro.

Only 1 season did Petro ever get less points than {araykos best season in points

ps.7 pts in 25 games is like 25 points in a season.

Thats 37 plus Parayko and i'm sure I've missed a few. so. yeah. i'd take any of these guys as my top 2.i mean they all have their flaws but in reality any of them have or could at their peak win the Norris. That word gets thrown out way too much.

Would St. Luis do this deal? i'd say no simply because they are comng fresh off winning a cup by not needing flash to win it. Why change at the moment they are what other teams want. That said, it doesn't mean a guy of Paraykos talent can't get dealt for marner. Say you put Parayko on a team desperate for flashiness and i'm sure they would deal him. Parayko himself is probably worth less than Marner. However, once you put him in the situation he is in and no way st. louis deals him. Now if by january st. louis proves they can't score once again and they decide they heed a change well then parayko plus could happen for marner. Unfortunetly we can't possibly know this will happen but you can't rile it out that it wont. everything is possible.
Once you break it down to player and his skill traits and age and take out all the contract crap i'd have to say Marner for Parayko is a steal for St. Louis.

St. louis just wouldn't do it at this point of time due to all the other circumstances.

Also, i think you need to start watching more nhl games outside of your little st. louis bubble you're in.

When a team plays so piss pourly for half the year than catch fire for another half i have a hard time taking them serious. They are the Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde of the NHL.

Like my god, Parayko has never hit 40 points. He finally hit 10 goals for a season. He isn't a play driver and has never. ever even come close to being mentioned in any norris talk. Heck he wasnt even close for rookie of the year. The guy wasnt even the best player on his university of Alaska fairbanks team. Heck he wasnt even the best dman on his jr team out of fort McMurray. i mean he is the success story of a big dude who got some lucky breaks and was all st. louis had to offer for a bottom pairing when he first showed up. He worked hard and fit into a solid system and now is the 2nd best Dman on a stanley cup winnng team. parayko is combarable to scott stevens. but not the point a game mid 90s version but the stellar defender keep your head up with a hard shot mid 2000s version.

He is a very good dman and every team would love to have him but he will never be your 8 million a year Dman because big dudes that play like him slow down at 28-29 before their next big contract. Never a Norris but very solid. has anyone got anything to add?

Not the 80s to mid 90s play driving point machine Scott Stevens.

Parayko is good at what he does just like 45 other dmen on their teams.

Also, i guess if you are the most recent norris trophy winner you don't make the list ahead of Parayko according to a Blues fan. guess every professional writer who votes is wrong.

Once again craigger your assessment is completely wrong. Scott Stevens was a extremely physical player that laid out players with devastating checks. You claim petro is better. Points wise he is. Defensively he is not. You rate players like letang better because they get Points, even though they are not great defenders.

Let's just say this. Blues are extremely happy with parayko and his salary. We will not be trading him and petro will be resigned. So you can keep your winger who wants 11 million dollars. deal with the cap issues and possible 2nd hold out in 2 years. While also getting knocked out of the first round cause your defense is not great. Enjoy.

Im not getting knocked out of the first round, if the leafs do so be it i don't get so emotional over things i can't control.

I don't base my judgement of players based on their points unless they need to be a point producer. In fact i'm pretty sure all your mumble jumbo on thomas and kyrou you keep throwing out are based on their points stating they are better than kapanen because they got more points than he did as a 19-20 year old. All your arguments you bring up are based on points and i'm the one who keeps telling you to stop assesing players based souly on their points.

Now, once i argue "your way" you come back with stating points aren't how we should judge defencemen. you are horrible with arguing.

You stated parayko only had 7 less points than Petro so i came back and said 7 points in a 25 game spand equates to rougly 25 points in a full season

Next i never said parayko wasnt defensive in fact i compared him to scott stevens in the late 90s not the 80s version of stevens. Parayko will be a perenial 25-35 point man playing 2nd unit defence. Its sad, and i don't agree, but high flying defenceman now a days play 1st unit defence. Its the way the game is now and i'm sorry if you don't like that but that's hockey.

Also, if thomas and kyrou become as good as you feel they will, guess wha? their next contract demands will be as high as marner so you better hope they don't exceed your expectations or st. louis will have 2 straight years of contract disputes of their own.
