Sandin may not play this year but is Mathews and Nylander a massive downgrade from what you proposed? No it isn't. Your proposing a sideways move that throws away the future at the same time. If the leafs called Washington with this prop Washington would be throwing a parade.

So Matthews with 80 pts and Mylamder with 60 pts, so reasonable estimate of 150 pts or less. Ovechkin estimate 80 + pts Kuznetsov 70 + pts and Oshie 60 + pts so 210 pts or more. All 3 players combined could be multiplied at a pt. per game pace, so combined somewhere between 210 to 240 pts as your second line. And a more letal 1st and 2nd PP. Ovechkin adds grit, leadership, toughness. Kuznetsov is only 27,and is highly skilled very much like a Kucherov from Tampa. Oshie is Mr. shootout.

Love how when people want to trade matthews or nylander they estimate a low points (150 combined) total yet when those same people argue how good of a season they could have they estimate a high points (190 minimum combined)

Yes for a cup run this deal could help but then again it might not. Then what do the leafs do as ovechkin ages. i'd rather just keep what the leafs have and keep pluggin away.

Thats just me and maybe a few other.

To bad you also dealt bracco, sandin and ceci. i'm not a moran but losing that much on top of matthews and nylander to maybe win a cup seems pretty risky to me.

Dealing ceci without getting a dman back puts a lot of pressure on liljegren and thus hurts his development. Dermott is gone for 2 months minimum. having ceci whether you like him or not is needed right now.

Seriously man? Ovechkin is ageing, Kuznetsov is a solid player but not a top 20 player in the league. I like oshie but still man your seriously overvaluing these guys. Ovechkin scores but doesn't drive plays the same way Mathews advanced stats are. Mathews is known as a top 5 in the league and Nylander is far younger than any of them. Ever wonder why not one person ever agrees with you?
